Mikumi National Park, strategically located on the northern boundary of the vast Selous Game Reserve, forms part of an expansive wilderness that stretches eastward towards the Indian Ocean. While exploring Mikumi, visitors have the unique opportunity to witness rare tree-climbing lions, a fascinating adaptation. The park is also home to a diverse array of other resident wildlife, including eland, impala, kudu, sable antelope (often referred to as black antelope), baboons, and wildebeests

Day 1: Dar es Salaam Ferry to Mikumi National Park

Your adventure begins with a morning pickup at the Dar es Salaam ferry terminal. From there, you’ll embark on a scenic five-hour drive to Mikumi National Park. A stop will be made en route for lunch and a brief rest. Upon arrival at Mikumi, you’ll immediately commence an exhilarating game drive, offering excellent opportunities to observe a diverse array of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, hippos, buffalo, impalas, elands, jackals, leopards, lions, and many other fascinating species. The game drive will continue until sunset, after which you’ll return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam

Awake to a delicious breakfast before gathering your belongings. You’ll then embark on a leisurely morning game drive as you make your way out of the park, providing further chances to spot wildlife. Following this final wildlife viewing, the vehicle’s roof will be closed for the return journey to Dar es Salaam. You will be dropped off at your preferred location, whether it be the ferry terminal, airport, hotel, or any other residence
